Forget Trump’s ill-conceived border wall down under. We now have one closer to home: the Capitol Hill Border Wall. And sources tell us, it may be here to stay, along with a permanent QRF, a quick-reaction force to put down future insurrections.

Yogananda Pittman, the acting US Capitol Police chief recommends that Congress approve the installation of permanent fencing to better secure Congress. She also wants a QRF stationed near the Capitol, should something like this happen again.

The Capitol Police has a $500 million dollar budget, yet they claim they were not equipped to handle an armed insurrection by a thousand people like the one on January 6.

One wonders what they spend all that money on, because it certainly isn’t on developing and maintaining law-enforcement officers well-versed in weapons and tactics.

Whadda YOU think: does Congress need protection from a few manufactured crazies, or do WE need protection from the many highly organized and well-funded crazies in Congress?

If you’ve been following political events over nearly two decades since 9/11, then you’ve doubtless witnessed the upswing in so-called protective measures like this proposed Capitol Hill Border Wall. You’ve also seen the gradual erosion of Americans’ access to their own elected officials.

But worst of all, you’ve felt the sting of our continual loss of Constitutional rights.

So tell me: what is another ill-conceived and poorly thought-out border wall going to accomplish?

Forty members of Congress submitted a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, calling on her to remove the fence and also send home the more than 7,000 National Guard troops currently stationed in and around the Capitol.

Republican Senator Tom Cotton stated:

“The National Guard soldiers who deployed to protect the Capitol this month certainly deserve such gratitude. They deployed on short notice, leaving behind their families and jobs.

Despite cold weather and uncomfortable conditions, these soldiers did their duty, in the finest traditions of the Guard. Their presence, coupled with tough federal charges against the Capitol rioters, deterred any further violence; the presidential inauguration occurred without incident.

With the inauguration complete and threats receding, now it’s time, yes, to send home the troops.”

So we’re left wondering: what good could possibly come of building a permanent Border Wall around the Capitol?

What are YOUR thoughts?

How do YOU react to the events of January 6 and the aftermath?

Do YOU think Congress should pass legislation to build a Capitol Hill Border Wall and further isolate the American people from their elected officials?

If you have information valuable to veterans right now, please share it with all of us. Remember: here at The VABA, your input counts.

Honestly, folks, what do YOU think?
